In April 2012 Simon Hope demonstrated turning the Offset Clock.

In the Photo Galleries there are detailed sequence photos which show how this was done.

This video supplements these photos and uses a CAD program to show the curves cut and comments on some points to watch out for.

Just in case … it includes sound/audio … and can also be viewed at full screen size.

If you are going to try this remember that with offset turning the mass on the lathe is out of balance – you are also creating sharp edges which are spinning rapidly – be careful…
