410 - Turning Club - Serendipity

Even without a theme members brought a wide variety of pieces for display.

Alwyn Moorbey had created Pens in Black Ebony. Peter Ashton and Brian Greaves created bowls while Christine Greaves created a classic Krater Vase form.

Roy Boulton brought a Toothpick Holder, after release the interior sinks gently into the container…

Colin King brought a Napkin Holder plus two attractive clocks - one with a Shooting theme and the other a Skeleton Clock.

Allen Atkins created a wide spalted Beech plate with Walnut inlay plus a Mushroom shaped String Dispenser and an Oak hollow form.

Colin Brown created an attractive table piece using Ash streptohedron and fluted forms on a Laburnum base.

Debbie Piggott use pre formed threads in a box, and created a tool holder to help stabilise and control the cutting depth of tools when making deep forms.

Allen Atkins demonstrated the table lamp theme and then went on to demonstrate the making of a goblet.

Meanwhile Roy Boulton demonstrated turning a bowl from some fired timber, followed by a demo of the table lamp them. He also gave tuition on sharpening.

The theme for next week will be "a table lamp".
