395 - Turning Club - Yo-Yo theme

Six yo-yos were presented but no-one offered to show one working. Roy Boulton and John Rowland created highly decorated yo-yos and Roy demonstrated how to make one.

Pott Pourri bowls in Walnut were shown by John Cheesbrough. Allen Atkins finished last weeks Laburnum and Beech bowls and added two more in Walnut and in Olive Ash.

Jan Cranston brought a 'jig' for making paper seed pots from paper - Roy demonstrated making the jig.

Tino DeJesus brought two puzzles - the beads have to be moved between loops - see the pictures…

Colin King brought bowls with patterning (spiralling tool), gold coloured growth rings and with a coloured finish.

Roy Boulton demonstrated making - a yoyo, boxes with inlay, box with a screw lid and showed newcomers the techniques for cutting threads.

Meanwhile Allen Atkins created a ladies ear-ring stand plus a box with a coin inlayed lid.

The theme for next week is "Involuted Turning" - a sample piece is shown in the gallery.
