Turning Club - 21-28/May/2016

Woods shown included Tigerwood, Boxwood, Sycamore, Yew, Purple Heart, Hornbeam, Danta (West African), spalted Birch, Copper Beech, Picassa Ebony, Kingwood, Cherry and Oak.

Pieces shown included - bottle stand, pot-pourri, sphere, a wide rimmed dish with coloured rim (marbling effect), dishes and bowls, a vase/pot, a threaded lid box with Tigerwood inlay, other lidded boxes, a watch stand, trinket boxes, a goblet with captive rings, and a wide rimmed dish with copper and gold gilding.

Few brought pieces on 28th so these have been added - a skeleton clock, a set of goblets and a goblet/vase form with flower.

Roy Boulton demo'd turning box with threaded lid and with a contrasting wood inlay; a bowl in spalted Beech and a long stemmed goblet with captive ring; on 28th - threading.

Alan Atkins is recovering from a shoulder operation - we wish him a speedy recovery.
