Turning Club - 19/Nov/2016

Woods shown included Sycamore, Purple Heart, Beech, Maple, Copper Beech, Chestnut, Sepele, Eucalyptus, Ash Laburnum and Australian Lacewood.

Pieces showed included a large Eucalyptus thin section "hat form" bowl with considerable drying out distortion; a dish in Purple Heart plus a lidded dish in Beech and Purple Heart; a dish in Australian Lacewood; several sets of screw threaded nut crackers - some with inlays; a serviette stand; a pair of lidded boxes in egg cup/egg form in Ash; an urn form with tall finial and air-blown paint design; a wide rimmed dish in Maple with multi-coloured rim design; and a framed plate with an intricate rope-work frame (using 7 rings of rope).

On 12/Nov Roger Foden demonstrated turning a goblet form and a heart shaped dish.
