Turning Club - Nov-Dec 2017.

Woods shown included Oak, Cherry, Laburnum, Walnut, Pear, Elm, Robinia, Mahogany, Berberis and a Thika pod.

A relative few pieces as the wood turning sheds get colder and the Festive Season approaches... pieces from 18th until the end of December 2017 are grouped.

A clock and barometer in an Elm surround; a colourful urn form; a segmented piece; and an owl from an old Oak fence post; clocks in a Laburnum surround; a lighthouse lamp; a threaded lidded box from a Thika Pos; and a lidded box in Cherry; dishes in Berberis, Cherry, Oak and Pear.

Allen Atkins demo'd turning a square dish, a bud vase form and a Walnut dish; Jan Cranston turned a cup; Robert Buller an Egg-cup.

Roy Boulton demo'd bud vase plus a hollow form with knurling in Pear wood.

With sadness we learned of the sudden and unexpected death of Gerry Tidbury, an active member of this club for the past five years. Our condolences to his family and friends.
