Turning Club - 16 Feb 2019.

Woods used included - Elm, Oak, Yew, Apple, Lacewood, Acacia, Holly, Boxwood, Ekki, Mahogany, Maple, Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Walnut and Beech.

Several pieces were brought and shown including - a competition to create an egg and egg-cup attracted seven entries using contrasting woods including Mahogany, Beech, Walnut, Holly, Oak, Yew, and Hawthorn - one egg had a chick!. Also shown were dishes/bowls in Ekki, Boxwood, Yew, Apple, Oak, and Elm; a set of three cartridge based key fobs in Lacewood and Mahogany; a temple form in Acacia; a necklace stand in Elm; a pen in Oak; a colourful decorated egg; and a decorated plate with a turned flower design.

Allen Atkins demo'd turning a bud vase, a lidded goblet, a pear in Yew and a natural edged dish in Boxwood.

Roy Boulton and Graham Jones demo'd turning techniques. (Graham created a Temple form).

There were a number of first-time visitors watching the various demonstrations.
