Turning Club - 18 May 2019.

Woods used included - Poplar, Sycamore, Yew, Holly, Walnut, Redwood, Beech, Elm, Cherry, Goncalo Alves, Oak, Purple Heart and Pewter.

There was a mini competition (5 entries) to create a Pot-pourri. Today it was won by Peter Kemp, with John Rowlands and Bernard Perkins in second and third places.

Peter Broadhurst created a 24in diameter natural edged bowl in Poplar; John Stidworthy created a display piece/bowl in Walnut with a branch junction featuring unusual callouses, plus a lidded box with pewter work and a bowl in spalted Beech. Bernard Perkins created a desk lamp in Apple wood with a shade created from twigs.

Graham Jones demo'd turning a chalice in Oak and Purple Heart.

Roy Boulton demo'd turning techniques with a long stemmed goblet in Yew, plus other pieces.
