Turning Club - 02 Mar 2019.

Woods used included - Boxwood, Sycamore, Oak, Yew, Walnut, Afrormosia, Ash, Laburnum, and Acacia.

Pieces shown - a mini competition to create an apple with the winning apples in Laburnum, Yew and Acacia; rimmed dishes in Sycamore - one with a colourful bowl and the other with a textured and coloured rim; cutting boards with segmented patterns in contrasting woods; a collection of streptohedrons; bud vases; bowls/dishes in Ash, Afrormosia (from a groyne), and Yew; clock and photo stands; a tazza (cake stand) in Elm? and Yew; and a pair of bud vases.

Allen Atkins demo'd turning a natural edged and lidded dish form in heavily fissured Boxwood.

Roy Boulton and Robert Bullard demo'd turning techniques. Roy also demo'd tool sharpening.

There were a number of first-time visitors watching the various demonstrations.
