550 - Andrew Hall demo day

Andrew is renowned for his turned hats and helmets.

He demonstrated turning a medium sized Gambler style hat, using a light source to get the wall thicknesses wanted. He explained the techniques for bending the turned hats to the final shape - the process can take upto 6 weeks.

Andrew continued with a thin walled goblet which was then converted to a Helmet.

Recently he has added air brush colouring to his decorative pieces and he showed a number of examples with details of the techniques used.
