535 - Turning Club - 22/Sep/2012

A very active meeting with lots of friendly banter. We had a least six drop-in visitors including Lowell Eckert from North Carolina.

Peter Kemp brought back his magnificent Elm Chair with some of the tools used to make the seat.

Other member exhibits included several lovely bowls (in Ash, Olive-Ash, Ripple-Ash, Chestnut, Brown Beech and Sycamore), a tazza, a clock, a pot-pourri, a lidded box with coloured inlay, a strepothedron based 'thingy', light pulls, and a paperweight.

Roy Boulton demonstrated turning an ear ring stand, bracelets, a napkin ring and a small bowl. Meanwhile Allen Atkins demonstrated turning a deep pot-pourri vessel plus a large bowl.

Allen guided Christine Holmes through her very first steps - turning to round, beads and coves and they then created two key rings.
