<img alt="African Stand" src="../thumbnails/600_thumbnail05Jan13.jpg" style="width: 140px; height: Auto; margin: 10px 10px 5px 10px;" class="float-left" /> A very busy meeting with lots of items displayed and several visitors.

The "African Stand", brought by Brian Savage, with its 5 pairs of interveaved legs, was viewed with considerable interest as was the large Rubinia bowl by Brian Inwood.

Other items included a large sycamore "ring rimmed" bowl/dish, dishes in oak and olive ash, hollow form in sepele, pot-pourri in myrtle, a lidded box with acrylic finial, key rings, a beaded form "flower pot" ornament and chess pieces.

Allen Atkins demonstrated turning and finishing a lidded box with tall finial plus a 6" tall long stemmed goblet.

Meanwhile, Roy Boulton demonstrated basics followed by an Oak salt shaker, another salt shaker with inlay in the top - both themed on chess pieces.

Weekly themes are to be re-started - the theme for next week will be to create a salt or pepper shaker based upon the shapes of chess pieces.
