The theme for this week was to create an apple and/or a pear - a popular theme which was well supported.
Apples and Pears were created using many different types of wood, with colouring, some in splendid dishes and one on a stand.
Other items brought included pot-pourri, a candle holder, a table lamp, and clocks.
Allen Atkins demo'd making a deep drinking vessel (to be finished at home) plus a deep bowl.
Roy demo's basics for several visitors/starters culminating in the creation of a goblet with a long spiralled stem plus a candle snuffer.
Next week there is a demo by a visiting professional - Mark Baker.
For the following week the challenge is to make a lidded box painted black inside and out, with a plain lid. This will be used for carving. See photos 53 to 55 in the gallery.
