Turning Club - oy/Jun/2014

Woods shown today included oak with liming, olive, jarrer, sycamore, myrtle, padauk, laburnum, paralam, oak, walnut, mahogany, cherry, elm, boxwood, and ash plus handmade lacework.

Pieces shown - a large burr elm bowl, bowls with natural edges in boxwood and myrtle and in cherry, coloured dish with carved flower design rim, a fan with lacework, eggs, a four cornered dish, a bud vase and a hexagonal bowl in paralam.

Antigue or very old pieces have been restored - Peter Kemp re-turned olive goblets while Bill Foster restored large bowls which were hiding magnificent (and valuable) pieces of olive and walnut.

Roy demo'd box turning a tazza/cake stand and more ... meanwhile Allen Atkins demo'd turning a lidded box in syscamore with a walnut inlay ... photo next week.
